Myrtle Alice (Gibbs) Creel was born in Condon, Ore., September 12, 1927 and went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2015 in The Dalles, Ore., at the age of 88. Myrtle was born the sixth of 8 children, to Charles and Letha Gibbs. She raised 3 daughters; Alice Wilbur (Leonard), Ellensburg, Wash., Linda Perkins, The Dalles, Ore., and Carol Ann Fisher (Brad), Gresham, Ore. She married the love of her life, Vaughn Monty Creel on September l, 1973 and gained a wonderful extended family with him. Vaughn preceded her in death on March 13, 2015. Myrtle loved God, music, baking, family and friends. Myrtle was known for her pies, especially her homemade mincemeat. She loved to visit, play guitar and sing and have people drop by anytime. Myrtle was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Tommy, Frank "Red,” Finley and Bill Gibbs and 2 sisters, Mary Jane Webb and Hester Segui. She is survived by her 3 daughters, her brother Charles "Ted" (Evelyn), 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Marshall (Sara) Woods, Shelly (Steve) Koegler, and Wendy (Joe) Hancock. She is also survived by her 8 great grandchildren; Elissa, Luke, Mackenzie, Travis, Shailynn, Maddison, Bailey and Hunter.
A memorial service will be held at the Dufur Christian Church on Saturday, Oct 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. For those who wish to make donations in Myrtle's name, the family suggests the American Lung Association, 822 John St, Seattle, WA 98109.
