Patricia (Pat, Trish) Mecalis 77, departed with peace and grace from this world for heaven, in September 17, 2015 in The Dalles, Ore.
Pat was a native Oregonian. She was born in Albany, but was raised in Sweet Home, and Eugene, with years spent in Portland, Salem, Redmond, Prineville, and The Dalles.
She started her clerical career as a telephone operator at the Bell Telephone Company in Portland. Progressing to a prestigious position in the Executive department at the Governor’s office for the state of Oregon. Her most fulfilling work was had at the Opportunity Foundation in Redmond, Ore. With many positions held in between, over the course of her life.
Pat was an amazing and skilled seamstress, artist, crafter, writer, and encourager.
Her most important relationship was with Jesus Christ, and she was an avid prayer warrior for her family, friends, community and country. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted friend, who’s greatest passion was helping others.
She had great pride and abundant love for her family. She leaves behind her two daughters: Michelle Lauterbach (Brian), Christy Donham (Kevin), and grandchildren Emily Curtis (Cameron), Katelyn Kohl, Ross Kohl, and Bailey Donham. She is also survived by the newest addition that promoted her to great grandma status, Lucy Curtis, her brother David Pappin, nephew Mike Pappin (Lisa), and numerous cousins and family friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents Hazel and Frank and her sister Frances.
A celebration of her life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 3350 Columbia view drive, The Dalles Oregon on Sunday, October 18 at 2 p.m.
The family would like to thank Ben Pate P.A., and team, plus all of the staff at Flagstone Assisted Living for their wonderful care.
