Donna Lee Pengra was born on September 16, 1927 in The Dalles, Ore., to parents George and Grace Spickerman. She was the youngest of three sisters. She attended schools in The Dalles and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She met the man of her dreams William J. Pengra during his service in the Army Air Corp in World War II. They married on his return from the war on April 4, 1948 and they made their home in The Dalles, Ore. Donna was the mother of four children: Robert Pengra, Cathie (Pengra) Young, Joanie (Pengra) Morelock and Steve Pengra.
In 1970, the family moved to Bend, Ore., where she and Bill have lived for 45 years.
Donna leaves behind Bill, her beloved husband of 67 years, son Bob, daughter Cathie and her husband Philip Young, daughter Joanie and her husband Scott Morelock and son Steve and his wife Beth, her grandchildren Maleea Brocious, Emily Pengra and Josh Pengra and great-grandson Benjamin Brocious. She also leaves behind her two sisters Helen Elton and Shirley Sawyer and extended family members.
Donna was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was never hesitant to share her faith in the neighborhood where she and Bill lived for more than 25 years. She passed away on October 6, 2015 at the age of 88 years due to natural causes. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
