Mary Evangeline (Fagan) May, 92, a long time resident of The Dalles passed peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2015.
Mary was born May 17, 1923 to Willis Guy and Amanda (Wilde) Fagan. She was the youngest of four.
She completed high school while waiting for her high school sweetheart to return from the U.S. Army after serving in World War II. Mary was married to Robert J. May on August 10, 1945 in Goldendale, Wash.
Mary and Bob owned and operated an appliance store in Moro, Ore., before getting into the oil business. They eventually owned all of the Shell Service Stations in The Dalles as well as being the local Shell Oil jobber until their retirement in 1981.
Mary enjoyed their yearly fishing trips to Round Butte Reservoir in their motor coach and their frequent trips to the coast in Depoe Bay, Ore.
Mary Is survived by nephews; Gary Confer and his wife Jeanne of Washougal, Wash., Ron Confer and his wife Lou of Goldendale, Wash., Steve Fagan of Sacramento, Calif.. and a niece, Darlene Way and her husband Dane of The Dalles, Ore. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Gifford Willis, and Cornelious Peter Fagan, and her sister Dorothy Hester Confer.
Private graveside services were held August 29, 2015 at the IOOF Cemetery on Cherry Heights with Spencer, Libby, and Powell in care of the arrangements.
