Noma Dean Welch, 85 passed away in her home on March 14, 2016, In the loving hands of family and friends.
Mrs. Welch was born April 7, 1930 in Antioch California to her parents Allene Long Williamson and Noble Ishamel Williamson. She was the oldest of three children. Noma was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Williamson and Bob Williamson.
She married Leonard "Dexter" Welch March 10, 1951 in Reno NV. The Welch's lived in Pittsburgh California where Dexter worked as a salesman and Noma a homemaker. They also lived in Fremont California before moving their family to McMinnville OR in 1968.
Noma worked with pleasure as a caregiver first to her family as well as for the State of Oregon at Fairview Hospital caring for people's with disabilities. Later Noma and Dexter opened their home as a foster care to adults with disabilities for 25 years. She was an advocate for people's with disabilities to be treated with respect and dignity. She retired in 2003 when she and Dexter moved to The Dalles OR to live near their daughters.
Noma dedicated her life to Jehovah God through baptism in 1965.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband and children: Denise Welch, Robert Welch, Greg Welch, Darris Welch Garcia and Son in law Joe L Garcia. Grandchildren: Corey Stiff and Lisa Stiff, Jesse Adam Woods, Michael Welch, Nicholas Welch, Jessica Welch. Great grandchildren: Ivy Woods, Tyler Stiff, Spencer Stiff, Robby Welch, Natalie Welch, Christopher Welch.
Memorial Services will be held April 16, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness at 2:00PM Located at 2500 W 8th St. The Dalles OR.
