James Robert Eddy passed away on Friday, April 15 at Mid-Columbia Medical Center.
Bob was born on July 7, 1965 in The Dalles to Edward Dale and Kathryn Gayle Eddy. He attended Dry Hollow Elementary School, The Dalles Middle School and graduated from The Dalles High School in June 1984.
He attended the University of Oregon, where he participated in track and field. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He later graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Economics.
Bob did many things in his life. He worked for Coffee People in Portland, Ore., for several years, and then returned to The Dalles where he first worked for The Dalles Irrigation District, before assisting his father in their orchard operation on Dry Hollow Road, he managed the orchard for ten years following his father’s retirement. Most recently, he served as his father’s caregiver for three years.
Bob loved the outdoors. He spent a large part of his life fishing the Deschutes and John Day Rivers. He also loved deer, elk and goose hunting in eastern Oregon.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Gayle Eddy. He is survived by his father Edward Dale Eddy of The Dalles, daughter Sophia Eddy, and son Cal Eddy both of the Dalles, sister Stephanie Keme Henderson also of The Dalles, and special friends, brothers in life, Kenny Graham of Pomeroy, Wash., and John Lehman of The Dalles.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 23 at The First Christian Church in The Dalles beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church. Memorial donations suggested to The Dalles Booster Club, 1301 E 19th St., The Dalles, OR 97058.
