Anna Claire Neal, fondly known as “Chip,” passed away in Bend, Ore., on April 21, 2016 at the age of 68.
She was born in The Dalles, Ore., on June 10, 1947 to Harriet (Hix) and Lester DePriest. Chip graduated from Dufur High School in 1965 and married Richard Neal on August 27, 1966 at the Dufur Catholic Church. She raised two sons and worked on the family farm. Mrs. Neal enjoyed horses and riding, flower gardening, dogs and cats, and baking.
She is survived by her husband Richard Neal of Dufur; sons Anthony Neal of The Dalles and Tyler Neal of Dufur; sister Mary Smith of Dufur; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold DePriest.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29 at Dufur Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in Chip’s name may be given to Home At Last Humane Society in The Dalles. To send condolences to the Neal family, please visit www.gardnerfh.com.
