Vicki Jean (Taphouse) Fricano, 60, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., died peacefully August 11 at her home surrounded by her family.
Vicki was born on January 14, 1956 in Spokane, Wash., the oldest of four children to David and Patricia (Ellis) Taphouse. She grew up in The Dalles and attended Wahtonka High School before earning an associates degree from Chemeketa Community College.
Vicki was a world traveler and visited/lived in such places as Sao Paulo, Australia, Africa, Europe, Alaska, Aspen and California. She lived life to the fullest and took anyone with her who had the energy. As a single mother, she worked as a waitress and then as a Trade Broker for ITEX Corp. Vicki's hobbies included photography, crocheting, cooking and crossword puzzles.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, James, her husband, Tony Fricano, and her son, Guy LeBreton.
Vicki is survived by her two daughters, Jeanie (Alex) Fox, Tanzania, Africa; Cathy (Mike) Smith, Corona, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Becky LeBreton; step-daughters, Shaleen Dae Fricano and Jennifer (Ivan) Paredes-Fricano, San Jose, Calif.; sister, Shari (Mark) Freeman; brothers, Dave (Kellie) Taphouse and Mike (Nancy) Taphouse, The Dalles, Ore.; her grandchildren, Brian, Stevn and Anjoline LeBreton; Michael, David and James Fox; Katie and Amy Smith; and James Fricano as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of Vicki's life at the American Legion, The Dalles, Ore.
