Levona Geary, “LaVonne” or “Von” as she was known to family and friends, was a long time resident of The Dalles, she passed away peacefully at her home at The Springs at Mill Creek assisted living on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016.
Born Oct. 30, 1926 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to John E. Pryor and Gladis Cary, she grew up living in Klamath Falls, Bend, and Baker City, all in Ore. She was the first of seven children, whom she helped raise after her parents died.
She married Norman J. Geary in 1960 in Medford, Ore., and helped him raise their five children. She worked for many years as a cook, and then at Oregon Cherry Growers until she eventually retired. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren and travelling as much as possible.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Norman and Joe, and her son Raymond. She is survived by her brothers; John, Lauren and Chuck Pryor, and Sister Betty Thompson, and her children, Robert, Arthur and Artice Geary and Ellon Hybertsen. Also her grandchildren; Karren Middleton, Gray Geary, Mandi Sisam, Deric Anthony, Randi Geary, Schon Hybertsen, Matthew Geary, Kaitlyn Geary and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sun., Dec. 11, at noon at The Dalles Yacht Club, Interstate 84, Exit 85, Boat Launch Road, The Dalles, Ore. 97058.
