Kenton Dean "Kent" Miller, age 59, of Elkton, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2016.
Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, Kent grew up in Nyssa and The Dalles, Oregon.
He attended Oregon State University, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. For many years he worked as a Project Engineer in the paper industry.
Kent enjoyed a successful career, and loved his work. He was currently employed at the Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper Mill in Palatka.
Outside of his work, Kent was just as enthusiastic about life. He was a very physically active person who loved the outdoors. Wherever he lived, he would discover and enjoy the best of life outdoors. In Minnesota it was snowmobiling, ice hockey and skiing, in Arizona he took on the desert on a dirt bike or 4-wheeler and in Florida he enjoyed all of the water sports.
He resided in Flagstaff, Arizona 6 years, and had been a resident of Elkton for the past 3 years.
Kent was an active part of the Anastasia Baptist Church family.
Above all, Kent was a devoted husband and father to his beloved family, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Tammy Miller of Elkton; a son, Cameron Miller and his wife Linette of Flagstaff, AZ; a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Miller of Providence, RI; his parents, Dick and Bobbie Miller of The Dalles, OR; a sister, Ronda Kienlen and her husband Brian of Scappoose, OR, and a brother, Christopher Miller and his wife April Herlache of Eugene, OR.
