Norman D Mee, age 83, was born in Wasco, Ore., on March 21, 1933, to Joseph A & Gertrude Mae Mee and passed away on June 25, 2016, at a local care facility. He was number 3 of 11 children.
Norman was a member of The Dalles Chapter of the Moose Lodge (31 years), American Legion, Monterey County Grange (50+ years), past vice-president of The Chapter of the Blind, and a baptized member of First Christian Church in The Dalles.
He spent 36 years at Union Furniture in Monterey, Calif., working his way up from a salesman to an Interior Decorator. He consulted with many movie stars and members of the Monterey Golf Club.
Living siblings are:, Gordon Mee, Donna Hackler, Mary Batty and Dora Mee, all of The Dalles. He has one daughter, Debbie Mee, of California.
Norman was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Shirley; five brothers, Joseph W. Mee, Donald W. Mee & Robert A. Mee, a stillborn brother and one not full term; and one sister, Dorothy Dayley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Christian Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 23. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. Memorials may be sent to the Moose Scholarship Fund or a charity of your choice.
