Virginia, wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, born on July 10, 1932 in Dutch Mills, Ark., passed away on July 19, 2016. She loved her family and was always there to help and to give support. She was a long time resident of The Dalles, Ore. Some years ago she retired from Washington State Fish and Wildlife working in the various Dams on the Columbia River as a Fish Counter.
Her husband, George (Flip) passed 16 years ago, almost on the same day, July 18, 2000. Virginia had three sons, Richard Allen who died in 2001, Robby Dale married to Tina Book and living in Anderson, Ind., and Russell Lee married to Susie Yates and residing in Mosier, Ore.
As a grandmother, she is survived by 14 grandchildren: Jeffery Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Terra (Phillips) Kirby, Jeremy Phillips, Rebecca (Phillips) Muilenburg, Jordan Phillips, Anna (Phillips) Dunagan, Justin Phillips, Shannon (Whitmer) Hoesli, Kelly (Whitmer) Vaisey, Ryan Whitmer, Amy (Erdt) Liseth, and Jenny (Erdt) August.
As a great-grandmother, she is survived by 22 great-grandchildren: Jacey Phillips, Ali Phillips, Josette Miller, Adryan Phillips, Avery Phillips, Sydney Phillips, Matthew Kirby, Nathan Kirby, Laurel Kirby, Ruby Joy Muilenburg, Grace Marie Muilenburg, Russell Kelly Dunagan, Finley Rebecca Dunagan, Stone Hoesli, Max Hoesli, Owen Hoesli, Lena Vaisey, Simon Vaisey, Calvin Vaisey, George Vaisey, Josie Whitmer, and Piper Whitmer.
There will be a Memorial Celebration of her Life on Saturday August 6, 2016 at Covenant Hood River, 455 Frankton Rd, Hood River, Ore., at 11 a.m.
The family suggests donations to Providence Hospice of the Gorge.
