Betty Jean (Spickerman) Johnson, 92, a former resident of The Dalles, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, while receiving hospice care in Antioch, Calif. She was born April 2, 1924, in The Dalles, to Carl and Celeste (Myers) Spickerman.
Betty married Frank William Johnson of The Dalles in 1942. They were married 73 years until his death in May of 2015. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Gary and Carol Johnson of Walnut Creek, Calif., Robert and Becky Johnson of Tracy, Calif., and David and Christine Johnson of Antioch, Calif. She leaves six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her sisters Mary Simon of Milwaukie, Ore., Nathalie Call of Dufur, Ore., and Bernice O'dell of Marquette, Mich., survive her, as does her brother-in-law Melvin Johnson and his wife Shirley of Goldendale, Wash.
An Interment Service will be held at a later date in The Dalles.
