Louise Elaine Anderson, 91, died at a local care facility in The Dalles, Ore., on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Louise was born in Goshen, Ore., to Edwin Thomas Caton and Jennie Lucille (Scott) Caton on June 20, 1925 and was the youngest of 2 children. She grew up in the Portland and Milwaukie area and graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1943. Louise then went on to Portland State University for 3 years.

Louise married Bernard "Bernie" L. Anderson in Rigby, Idaho on January 22, 1946. From there the couple moved to the Portland area for work and on to Enterprise, Maupin and finally The Dalles, Ore. Louise worked as a Clerk Stenographer for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service in Enterprise, Ore. She also worked for the U.S. Department of Interior in Portland, Ore.

Louise was baptized in the Church of Christ and attended First Baptist Church in Enterprise, Ore. She had many hobbies including gardening, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles, Bible prophecy and always her family.

Louise was widowed in 2002 from her husband "Bernie" of 56 years. She is also preceeded in death by her parents and older sister Nancy Grafton. Louise is survived by daughter Nancy Anderson of The Dalles, Ore., son Thomas Anderson and wife Carol of Wallowa, Ore., son Paul Anderson and companion Paul Bonini of Tualatin, Ore. Grandchildren Adrina Lorenzo and husband Luis of Richland, Wash., Meredith Macharia of Boston, Mass., Janelle Jeffries of Portland, Ore., and Aaron Anderson and wife Aimee of The Dalles, Ore. Great grandchildren Julia Anderson of The Dalles, Ore., Raquel Oliver of Portland, Ore., Solomon Macharia of Boston, Mass., and Makena Macharia of Boston, Mass.

Viewing times were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Friday September 30, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday October 1, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Graveside services were held at IOOF Cemetery on 3 Mile Rd. out of The Dalles, Ore., on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Joyce Powell Morin officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
