Eino Harold Hill, 99, a resident of The Dalles passed away at the Oregon Veterans Home on Sunday, September 4, 2016.
He was born April 1, 1917 in Arlington, Wash. to Mikka Maki Hill and Alma (Roseudahl) Hill. He grew up in Arlington, Wash. and graduated from Arlington High School in 1935.
He served in the Army and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, The American
Theatre Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal during WWII.
Eino married Mellie Verlin Carpenter in Tacoma, Wash. in 1956 and had 4 children Glorian, Sharon, Melvin and Mike. He moved his family to The Dalles in 1970. He worked as a Locks Operator for the John Day Power House. He was a member of the Christian Life Center and enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma. He is survived by 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at IOOF on 3 Mile on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
