Longtime resident of The Dalles, Ore., and busi-ness owner, Ken E. Tesch, passed away Aug. 1, 2017, in Hood River, Ore., after a long illness. He was 78. Ken was born to Emil and Verna (Ristow) Tesch on Feb. 28, l939, in Wausau, Wisc.
Ken graduated from Wausau High School in 1957, and joined the Unit-ed States Air Force. He was a radar specialist and was named airman of the month several times. He served from 1957 to l961 at the air base in Condon, Ore.
He married Linda Sauter on May 9, l962. Together they bought Sauter's Moving and Stor-age from Ken and Violet Sauter and ran the business through 2016. Ken and Linda later divorced.
He was preceded in death by his partner Shirley “Mo” Bennett in 2014; brothers, Elmer and Alvin Tesch; sisters, Rose ( Te s ch ) Ra d ke, Je a n (Tesch) Stahel and Geor-giana (Tesch) Mohr. He is survived by his sons, Ken-neth F. (Helen) Tesch of Dorchester, Wisc., and Todd E. Tesch of Port-land, Ore.; grandchildren, Elizabeth D., Kathryn V. and Kenneth S. (Jeanie) Tesch; sisters, Dorothy (Tesch) Ivaska of Eagle River, Wisc., and Diane (Tesch) Damitz of Nikis-ki, Alaska.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
