Nicholas “Nick” Davitt, a former resident of The Dalles, Ore., died Sunday, Feb., 5, 2017, at his home in Portland, Ore.
He was born, Nov., 7, 1992, in Bremerton, Wash., to Joseph A. Davvit and Billie Jo Rose Scott. He grew up in The Dalles and graduated from The Dalles-Wahtonka High School.
He worked for his fiancee’s family in metal fabrication in Portland and was also a specialist in the Oregon National Guard in The Dalles.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Davitt and his wife Vicky of Goldendale, Wash.; his mother, Billie Jo Scott, The Dalles; his fiancee, Karlee Marie Bacastow; her parents, Kevin and Renee Bacastow; and her two sisters, Kelsea and Mackenzie Bacastow, Portland; his three brothers, Justin and Jarett Scott The Dalles; Cameron Davitt, Goldendale; his grandmother, Viola Davitt, Whiting, N.J.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna Mills, his grandfather, Joseph W. Davitt and his brother, Joshua A. Davitt.
Viewing visitation will be on Saturday, Feb., 11, 2017, from noon to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, Feb., 12, 2017, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in The Dalles. Funeral services will be at The Dalles Readiness Center, 402 E. Scenic Drive, The Dalles at 1 p.m. A reception will follow immediately, with a private committal on a later date at the IOOF three mile cemetery. Honor guard and pallbearers provided by the Oregon National Guard and honorary pallbearers will be: Cody Sallee and Brandon Young.
