Earlene Mae Gibson (Bartholomew) was born June 25, 1933, in Alva, Okla., to Fred Earl Bartholomew and Grace May Mallory. She died on Jan., 30, 2017, at 83 years. She was the oldest of eight children.
Earlene moved to The Dalles, Ore., in 1952 from Kansas. She started working at the TB hospital in 1952; it changed to the state hospital and she continued to work there until it closed in 1978. She then worked at Stadelman’s Fruit in The Dalles from 1978 until 1995.
She is survived by: two brothers, two sisters, four nieces, a nephew, several cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers, two nephews, and a great-nephew.
A memorial of her life will be announced at a later date.
