Robert (Bobby) Lee Stanek was born Sept. 15, 1934, in the Dalles, Ore., to Jesse and Mae Stanek. He passed away at home Jan. 30, 2017, in Puyallup, Wash.
Bob graduated from The Dalles High School in 1956, where he enjoyed football, boxing and wood shop. During his high school years, he worked at the Bakitchen as a baker.
He moved to California after high school, working for his sister Jerry and other establishments. Bob subsequently moved to Glendale, Ariz., where he was employed with the Ping Golf Club manufacturing company. After retirement, Bobby moved to Puyallup to be near family.
Bob is survived by his wife Callie; daughters Lisa, her husband Al, and Pamela; son Lee, his wife Kayleen; five grandchildren, Sierra, Sasha, Kayla, Aleina, Max and one great-granddaughter Kylee; brother Chuck of The Dalles; sister, Midget Holling of Windsor, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Wilma, Jerry, Eileen, Betty, Virginia; and brothers Bud and John.
Family, friends, and his faith were always of the utmost importance to Bobby. And he was a dedicated member of the hearing impaired. Bob’s joyful, compassionate, strong, funny, humble and accepting personality drew many a friend and family member time and again into his life. He touched many!
A memorial will be held at Lighthouse Church in Puyallup on Feb. 18 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. His ashes will be laid at the Odd Fellow cemetery in The Dalles later this spring.
