Carol Ann Haase, 79, a former resident of Cornelius Ore., recently of The Dalles Ore., died on Saturday evening, Dec. 31, 2016, at Flagstone Senior Living Facility.
Carol was born on Feb. 6, 1937, in The Dalles, the daughter of the late Charles Oswald and Althea Helen Powell Burnet.
She was raised and received her education in Moro, Ore., graduating in 1955. Following her graduation she attended Oregon State College, where she majored and received her bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She then taught third grade in the Hillsboro School District until her marriage to Alvin John “Al” Haase on June 21, 1970, at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cornelius Ore. Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm in Cornelius.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Al on Jan. 4, 2011, after celebrating over 40 years of marriage. Following Al’s passing, Carol moved to The Dalles and became a resident at the Flagstone Senior Living Facility, where she has resided since.
Among her special interests, she enjoyed knitting, cooking, canning and helping Al on their farm. She was also involved in many activities in the church.
Carol was also preceded in death by her brother, Steven Burnet.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Patty Burnet, of Moro, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Cornelius, Ore.
