Shannon Lee Lindell of Aurora, Ore., died peacefully at the age of 65 on July 18, 2017.
Shannon was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, on Dec. 15, 1951, to Lorenzo and Joann Kimball. She grew up in The Dalles, Ore., where she graduated from Wahtonka High School in 1970.
On September 24, 1983, she married Hal Lindell. Their 34-year union was shared raising their children and farming on the family ranch.
In January of 2017, Shannon retired from the Wasco County Public Works office after a 32- year career as a secretary and officer manager.
If you stopped by the house for a visit, you could always find her knitting or watching her favorite TV show, either an old western or a true crime series. Shannon will be remembered for her honesty, loyalty, and most importantly her kindness. Her legacy will be that of a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend.
Shannon is survived by her husband Hal Lindell; brother Kelly Kimball; children, Leslie and Humberto DeLaTorre, Lt. Col John and Pamela Masterson, Lt. Col Sean and Dona Masterson, Lester Lindell, Cody and Crystal Masterson, Aimee and Toby Bell; and 14 grandchildren. Shannon was proceeded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Joann Kimball; brother Michael Mace; sisters, Peggy Hammel and Kimmy Dittmar; and daughter Tammy Moschetti .
A memorial service will be held at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home Thursday, August 3, 10 a.m., in The Dalles, with a burial to immediately follow at the cemetery in Dufur, Oregon.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospital, as well as Legacy Hopewell Hospice House for their incredibly compassionate care of Shannon and the family during this extremely difficult time.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be placed in her name to the American Cancer Society.
