A play date with her Heavenly Father and her Daddy called Alma Jean Bailey home June 6, 2017. She was at Flagstone Assisted Living memory care upon her passing. Alma was born August 2, 1939, in Stockton Calif., to Fredrick and Mildred Kirby. She was the third child of four.
Alma came to Oregon as a small child, living in Klamath Falls, Redmond, Salem, Canby before coming to The Dalles in 2009.
Alma did cleaning in several nursing homes, worked at Oregon City Disability Center and finally retired from Mid-Columbia Center for Living at the age of 73.
Alma loved her family, coloring posters, parades, holidays and playing her guitar. She loved country music-Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash-going to church, car rides, traveling to Klamath Falls, and every dog, baby or stuffed animal that came her way. She loved to go out to eat with her roommate, Eva, and her caregivers. She loved joking around with you and would know everyone’s schedule. Mostly she loved you to spend time with her.
Alma was proceeded in death by parents Fredrick and Mildred Kirby; sister Mary Kennedy; two brothers-in-laws, Ellie Flescher and Ken Kennedy.
She is survived by her brother Jack Kirby and Verna Flescher, both of Klamath Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial will be held Thursday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Flagstone Assisted Living.
Alma will be laid to rest next to her daddy in White City, Ore. Memorials may be made to Heart of Hospice or Flagstone Assisted Living.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice and Flagstone for taking such good care of Alma and our family this last year. We appreciate each one of you.
