Ada Gail Spangler was born on April 4, 1926, in Bondurant, Iowa, daughter of the late George and Mary Jo (Allen) Henderson. She was raised and received her education from Bondurant High School and graduated in 1943.
She was united in marriage to Ed Spangler on Oct. 28, 1946, in Goldendale, Wash. and made their home in The Dalles, Ore.
Ada was preceded in death by her husband Ed, on Sept. 21, 2003, celebrating 56 years of marriage. Following his passing she moved to Forest Grove, Ore., to be closer to family.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Auto Electric before opening her own children’s clothing store in The Dalles called J & J Kids. .
Ada was a member of the First Christian Church in The Dalles, and most recently attended the Forest Grove United Methodist Church.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Allen and four brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two daughters and son-in-law; Jan and Daryl Maloch, of Forest Grove, and JoEllen Bradley of Gresham. Also, her four grandchildren; Carly and Caitlin Maloch, Tyler and Gabe Bradley, and their spouses, as well as five great- grandchildren.
A reception in memory of Ada will be held May 20, 2017, at 2 p.m., at The Marquis Assisted Living Facility, 3336 19th Ave. Forest Grove, Ore.
