Glen Ward McGlin was born in Menasha, Wisc., on March 25, 1943. He grew up in The Dalles, Ore., and graduated from Mosier School. He served in the Airforce as an aircraft mechanic and worked for Boeing. Later in life, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic and in masonry work. He passed away on Aug. 30, 2017, with his children at his side.
Glen was all about peace and love. He was strong in character and didn't worry about what others thought of him. He was a free spirit with a big heart. Anything he had he would give freely. He loved the water, being outdoors, fishing, his children and life itself.
Glen is survived by his children, Holly McGlin, Mike McGlin and Jennifer Smasne; siblings, Bonnie Benton and Gaylord McGlin.
A memorial will be held on September 23, 10 a.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, 1100 W. 18th, The Dalles. A celebration of life will be held after the memorial at Riverenza, 401 E. 10th.
