Barbara Louise Graham

The Dalles, Oregon

June 5, 1928 - September 20, 2017

Barbara Louise Graham, The Dalles, Ore., peacefully passed away into Jesus’ arms on Sept. 20, 2017.

Barbara was born June 5, 1928, in Mesa, Ariz., to Karl King and Victoria Lucile Kenner. Barbara’s childhood took her to live in several places in the west, from the Canadian to Mexico borders, as her father was a sheep shearer, so they traveled where the work was. Her family settled in Fossil, Ore., in the early 1940s and then, in 1945, they moved to The Dalles. Barbara graduated from The Dalles High School in 1947. She married Bobby Loyd Graham in 1952, and they had four children; Mitchell Graham (Kathy), Joy Peterson (Mike), Cynthia Graham, and Julie Proffitt (Eric). Barbara was a homemaker and loving mother to her four children. She had four grandchildren; Jenni, David, Jon Peterson, and Megan Graham. Barbara’s daughter, Cynthia Graham, was Barbara’s caregiver, companion, and friend in her later years. They had many years sharing life together and a bond of love for one another that will pass into eternity.

Over the course of her life Barbara was active in church, she loved to garden, knit and sew. She was very artistic, painting and drawing. In her later years, she volunteered at Child Evangelism Fellowship and Chenowith Elementary School. Barbara was a wonderful friend to many and never knew a stranger.

Barbara was predeceased by Bobby Loyd Graham, husband; Karl King Kenner, father; Victoria Lucile Kenner, mother; Douglas Kenner, brother; Anber Larimore, sister; Lloyd Levi Graham, father-in-law; and Mabel Knight Graham, mother-in-law.

Barbara was laid to rest on Sept. 23, 2017, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Cherry Heights Rd., The Dalles, Ore.

Barbara loved Jesus and one of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
