Richard N. (Rick) VanCleave, 64, of Sherwood, Ore., passed away peacefully Sunday, April 1, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. A gifted labor attorney for 38 years, Rick was devoted to family and friends from all walks of life. Born in Ontario, he attended grade school in the The Dalles, graduated from Pendleton High (1972), Oregon State (1976) and Willamette Law School (1980). He was a passionate golfer, never missed a Pendleton Round-up and adored his basset hounds. Rick's love, sense of style, colorful zest for life and uniqueness will be deeply missed.
Rick is survived by wife, Kimberly Cobrain; daughter, Sarah VanCleave-Sweat; grandkids, Brodee, Kodee and Gracee; daughter, Katie (Todd) VanCleave-Jewell; mother, Colleen Van Cleave; brothers, Randy (Debbie) Van Cleave and Robb (Lisa) Van Cleave; and many nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his father, H.N. (Bud) Van Cleave.
A celebration of life will be held at The Reserve Golf Club, June 14, at 2 p.m.
