KITCHEN CABINETS have been repainted, old countertops replaced with new granite (which was not much more expensive than laminate but will last longer), flooring replaced and a peninsula removed to make room for a dining are in newly remodeled affordable housing at 1712 Trevitt St. An open house is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. with information and applications available for USDA Rural Development financing.
