Breaking News: Veterans’ Service Office Job Fair April 20

Photo detail

THE DALLES LIONS CLUB members recently spiffed up the Lions Shelter at Sorosis Park. Lion’s members Robert Copper, Jim Bishop, Mike Kilkenny, Charlie Foote and Marcus Denney (pictured) restained the trim, after Lions Jerry Hoffman and Robert Copper pressure washed it. Lion Ron McHale, with help from Danny McHale, also installed new lighting that will help for events held at the park. The stain and the ladders were supplied by Northern Wasco Parks and Recreation Department. “I didn’t notice the sign on the Shelter that says The Dalles Lions Club, as it had accumulated a lot of dirt and grime, and now it really shines,” said Lion Jim Bishop. The Shelter at Sorosis Park was built by The Dalles Lions Club as a community service project in 1965 and has given years of use. Contributed photo
