JILL HOUSE, marketing director for A Kidz Dental Zone, adds embellishment to her organization’s entry in the 18th annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme is “A Partridge in a Pear Tree.” The live tree auction is set for Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. Each tree, donated by various community members and groups, comes fully decorated in different themes and sizes. Items in the silent auction include group experiences, traditional holiday decorations and themed gift baskets. While the event is for ages 21 and older, Saturday’s Community Day event is open to all ages from 9 a.m. to noon. Santa will be on hand for photos with little ones. “This event really showcases the talented, compassionate people in our community,” said Celeste Hill-Thomas, executive director of Mid-Columbia Health Foundation. “It’s touching to see so many individuals, businesses and organizations come together to work towards a common goal.” Proceeds are divided between two foundation funds, the Celilo Cancer Center fund and the Breast Health for Strong Families Fund.
