The Dalles Wahtonka track athlete Yasmin Hill hits the dirt with colorful locks flying in the long jump during Friday's opening leg of the Columbia River Conference track and field district championships in Hood River. Hill measured out at 15 feet10.5 inches to claim her first district title and an automatic berth into the upcoming state championships next week in Eugene. Also for TDW, state placer Lio Tunai won a district crown in shotput with a final distance of 53-6.5, and junior teammate Harris Farr tacked on a district crown by taking top honors in the long with a new The Dalles Wahtonka combined school record set out at 22-5.
