DUFUR SENIORS Jon Keyser and Kurt Nuevo dump a cooler full of ice water on head football coach Jack Henderson Saturday – despite the freezing temperature — after the Rangers 36-32 win over Crane in the Class 1A state championship game Saturday. The Wasco County Sheriff’s Office had five patrol cars, joined by vehicles from Dufur Fire and Ambulance, escorting the team out of town Friday. Lining the roadway to show support for the players headed toward Hermiston were citizens and elected officials, including Dufur Mayor Robert Wallace and Wasco County Commissioner Steve Kramer, who lives in the community.
