A number of readers responded in regards to last week’s photograph, including Terray Harmon, John Avila and Gary Conley. The photo was scanned from a 5 by 7 inch negative from the archives of the Chronicle.
The envelope containing the negative reads: “Deschutes River Project, April 4, 1955. Highway 30 and UP railroad bridges. Water to be 16 feet below the top of the new railroad piers.” Names referanced in other images in the envelop include Fred Mauser and Les Emerson, and Sjoblom.
