Last week’s History Mystery photograph, above, was scanned from a 2 1/4- by 2 1/4 -inch negative from the archives of The Dalles Chronicle.
The information on the envelope reads, “Tygh Valley School, Jan. 2, 1956.”
Agnes Brown, who lives in Tygh Valley, said that the school pictured was built after the old school burned down in the 1950s.
The school is now used as a community center.
Terray Harmon said that the History Mystery picture above shows the Burlington Northern track in the Moody Bridge area of the Deschutes River, and the barges in the background are on Miller Island.
