Glen Cathers of Goldendale stands for a photo at The Dalles Marina aboard the “36391,” a 36-foot U.S. Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat he and his wife, Naomi, restored in 2012. He stopped in late September on his way east following a four-month cruise down the Columbia River and along the Oregon coast and north to the Puget Sound, visiting Coast Guard Stations along his route.
