Dufur Ranger running back Hagen Pence eludes tacklers for a big gain during the second half of Thursday’s 1A football game against Hosanna Christian. Pence racked up 82 yards rushing, 34 yards passing and 30 yards receiving and had two touchdown cathes, as the defending champion Rangers jumped ahead 16-6 at halftime and held off a fourth-quarter Hosanna rally to score a 30-28 victory on opening night of the 15th annual Dufur Eight-Man Classic.
