Photo detail

This image is from a collection of historical photos gathered by The Dalles Camera Club. The caption reads, in part, “This is a typical river scene. Whether the four-horse teams had come to the wood scow (powered by sail) for cordwood... or lining up to take the empty wagons across the ferry for Klickitat County wheat is hard to say. Both occupations were performed daily. The house at right was the residence of A.H. Curtis, the home and farm buildings at left were owned by Daniel Bolton.”
