Coyotes hang up cleats for last time
The Columbia River Coyotes semi pro football team has ceased operation. Team owners M.J. and Kristen Walker of Wasco and Paul and Candi Brown of The Dalles, decided that they could no longer continue operating the Oregon Football League club. The team played its final game of the six-year history and had just 16 players who showed up for an April 26 home game against the Vancouver Vipers.
“It’s too bad that this happened, because I think that the local community was starting to develop an interest in the team,” said M.J. Walker. “There just wasn’t a good commitment from the players. They weren’t showing up for games or practices and they stopped paying their dues.”
