Firefighters everywhere mourn the loss of these brothers, we know the risks and sacrifice they shared. They were in good company in the end, working together to protect communities they loved. They honored all of us, their families, communities, and fellow firefighters as we honor them.
Even if the coal exports could be made through the gorge without mishap or blanketing us in coal dust what kink of insanity would it be to ship it to another country only to have it return to us in the atmosphere? Have you seen the smog in China? We are moving towards the elimination of coal fired plants in Oregon, it makes no sense to poison the air of others before it returns to poison us.
