It's scary to think I would even venture forth to write a blog on Christianity or religion, given the dire facts from history where some religious groups either burned their heretical enemies at the stake or chopped off their heads. Call me a bit of an idealist, I like to think all topics can be talked about with respect for each other, regardless of the subject being discussed.
When it comes to religion the current accusations and name calling by Gary Fisher show the worst kind of Christianity, or for that matter any religion. Matthew 22:37-40 New International Version (NIV) gives a good foundation for creating dialog to Christian disagreements and interpretations.
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
