THIS WEEK

Oct. 21 – Paint Nite at the Wasco Annex, fundraiser for the Sherman County Historical Museum. Doors open after 6 p.m., painting starts at 7 p.m. There will be beer, wine and foods to purchase from Moody Tollbridge Winery Company and the Macnab Sisters. This is not an art class. It is fun, laughter, and a good time with friends and for adults 21 and older. A portion of each ticket will support the museum’s LED Lighting Project.

Oct. 23 — The Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta with Coci Choir soloists from Pacific University will perform Beethoven's 9th symphony at 7 p.m. at Wy’East Middle School Performing Arts Center, 3000 Wy'east Rd, Hood River, in Odell. Adults $20/Students $10 at the door.

Oct. 23-24 — DJ B.ill, dance and house mixes, starts at 9 p.m. The Vault Bistro and Lounge, 209 E. Second St.

Oct. 23-25 — The Dalles Theatre Company presents “Dracula: The Musical?” by Rick Abbot Oct. 23-24 and 30-31 at The Dalles Civic Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a no host bar, seating at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. A special matinee performance will be held Oct. 25, doors open at 1 p.m. with a no host bar, seating at 1:30 p.m. and the show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets available at Klindt’s Booksellers, Saint Mary’s Academy and at the door. The performance is directed by David Owens.

Oct. 24 — Mosier School gym will be packed full of unlimited carnival games (with prizes!), a bouncy castle from 1 to 5 p.m. Costume contest, 3 p.m. Cost is $5. Haunted House, if you dare, for $2. Treats also available (prices vary). Fundraiser for Mosier Schools.

Oct. 24 — Author Bonnie Olin will present a talk/reading/video about the Owyhee Canyonlands based on her book “The Owyhee River Journals” at The Dalles Wasco County Library, 722 Court St., at 1 p.m. Event is free.

Oct. 24 — Mark Womble and Friends performs at The Dalles Eagle Lodge, 2006 W. 7th St., 7 to 11 p.m. Featuring Dennis Williams on saxophone and clarinet, Kit Garoutte on lead guitar, Paul Viemeister on bass and Jose Maya on Drums. Cover charge $3 members, $4 non-members.

Oct 24 — Jim MacMillan on guitar and vocals, Jerry Keith on bass and tuba and Randy Bell on cajon will be performing an evening of eclectic original music 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lyle Hotel, 100 7th St., Lyle, Wash.

Oct. 31 — Home At Last Humane Society in The Dalles hosts a Howl-o-ween pet party 9 a.m. to noon at Lewis and Clark Festival Park. Cost is $10 per pet. Gather $50 in pledges and receive free registration and pet costume. Events include a costume parade through downtown, a pet costume contest, Petco booth, paw painting, games and a barbeque.
