AFTER HOURS: The Wasco County Historical Society is sponsoring “History After Hours” at Riverenza, 401 E. 10th St., 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Appetizers will be served. There will be a cake to celebrate Oregon’s birthday.

KIWANIS PROGRAMS: Kiwanis meetings are held every Thursday at noon at Spooky’s Pizza and visitors are welcome, Police Chief Jay Waterbury will speak on “42 Years Behind the Badge.” More information, www.thedalleskiwanis.org.

PESTICIDE TRAINING: Columbia Gorge Community College and Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) offers two pesticide license recertification courses at the Hood River Indian Creek Campus: Hazard Communication from 8 a.m. to noon, and Worker Protection Standards, 1 to 5 p.m. Participants wishing to receive core credit hours must provide the required information to Department of Agriculture during class. ANNUAL DANCE: The seventh annual Daddy daughter Dance at the Fort Dalles Readiness Center, 5 to 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Let’s See Paris!” Early pictures, 5 to 6 p.m.; dinner, 6 to 7 p.m. and dancing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For ages K through eighth grade. Cost is $40 per couple, $15 each additional daughter.
