WorkSource Columbia Gorge has partnered with local employers from across the Gorge to host a job fair in Washington Thursday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Elks’ Lodge, 124 NE Church Avenue, White Salmon.

Participating employers need electronics assemblers, composite engineers, maintenance technicians, database administrators, cabinet makers, and more.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, legally eligible to work in the U.S. and able to speak and understand English. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Job seekers are asked to come dressed to interview with resume in hand.

According to a press release from WorkSource, manufacturing workers in Washington earn more than $72,000 per year on average — roughly 30 percent more than the state’s average annual wage. As baby boomers retire, manufacturing careers are more available than they’ve been for decades.

The WorkSource system is a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies.
