It was a hot weekend and dozens of hot cars showed up in The Dalles over the weekend for the annual “Cruise the Gorge” event, which kicked off with a Neon Cruise through downtown The Dalles beginning Friday afternoon at 6 p.m.

Cars cruised up and down Second Street and Thrid Street until dusk to show off their unique vehciles.

Then all day on Saturday, cars lined up to be showcased at the Show in the Shade event at Sorosis Park.

The turnout was strong and the cars were amazing.

“Despite the heat wave, we had a record 370 entries this year and a great turnout for the Neon Cruise on Friday,” said Steve Hudson, tour chair of the Mid-Columbia Car Club, which, along with The Dalles Rotary, sponsored the car show.
