Lundquist joins Gorge news team

Caleb Lundquist

Caleb Lundquist has joined the Gorge news team and will be covering sports for the Hood River News and general news for The Dalles Chronicle.

“I was born and raised in Petaluma, Calif., where my parents moved to from Tillamook, Ore.,” Lundquist said.

“Since both my mother and father grew up in Oregon, our family visited often throughout my life; this state has always felt like a second home to me.

“After graduating from high school, I pursued a degree in English Writing at North Central College, a liberal arts school in Naperville, Illinois. My time at North Central was busy, as I split myself between academics, sports and nurturing a growing passion for journalism.

“I was a member of North Central’s Track and Field program, where I competed in the javelin throw, and was multimedia editor of the college’s student-run newspaper, The Chronicle.

“It was in the latter role I found my love for journalism, in all forms. After graduating, I moved home to McMinnville, where my parents had relocated.

“Eager to begin my career in journalism, I jumped at the opportunity to work for Hood River News and The Dalles Chronicle.

“Both publications have historic presence in the county, and I am confident that my experience here will prove imperative to my future success.

“I’m excited to help serve the community with quality and informative news, and look forward to meeting the wonderful people here.”
