For the Record for November 17, 2018

Zachary Rivera, 32, a resident of Mulino, Ore., died in a single-vehicle crash the morning of Nov. 14 on Interstate 84 milepost 89 east of The Dalles. Initial investigation revealed Rivera’s 2000 Dodge Ram pickup was westbound when the vehicle hit the guardrail, crossed both lanes, and went down an embankment on the south side of the interstate. Rivera was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Oregon State Police were assisted by Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue and ODOT.

Editor’s note: All individuals arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Wasco County

Nov. 14, 11:16 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Wamic. A crash report was taken.

Oregon State Police

Nov. 11, 10:36 a.m. – Single vehicle, injury crash, Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 89. Driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the road. She was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. She was cited for careless driving and a report was taken.

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

Nov. 10, 6:06 a.m. – Crew responded to the 400 block of East 3rd Street on a report of a fire alarm.

Nov. 10, 8:08 a.m. – Crew responded to the 1700 block of Cherry Heights Road on a report of controlled burn.

Nov. 10, 4:59 p.m. – Crew responded to the 100 block of West Scenic Drive on a report of a controlled burn.

Nov. 11, 6:34 p.m. – Crew responded to Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 92 on a report of a vehicle fire.

Nov. 13, 11:54 a.m. – Crew was dispatched to an area South of Webber Road. No problem was found.

Nov. 13, 9:06 p.m. – Crew was dispatched to an incident near Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 73.

The agency also responded to seven calls for emergency medical services on Nov. 9, five on Nov. 10, ten on Nov. 11, five on Nov. 12, and four on Nov. 13.

The Dalles City

Daniel Edward Flock, 43, Wishram, Wash., was arrested Nov. 9 in the 1200 block of West 6th Street and is accused of harassment.

A theft report was taken Nov. 10 from the 1600 block of East 9th Street after a victim reported his cell phone was stolen.

A death report was taken Nov. 10 from the 400 block of West 13th Street.

Theo Ward, 76, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 10 in the 1200 block of G Street and is accused of strangulation, harassment, and coercion.

A burglary report was taken Nov. 11 from the 800 block of Floral Court after a victim reported someone broke into her bedroom.

A hit and run report was taken Nov. 11 from the 1200 block of West 6th Street.

Police responded to East 12th and Lewis streets Nov. 11 on a report of two dogs at large. A report was taken.

David James Sendejas, 26, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 11 in the 200 block of East 3rd Street and is accused of post-prison violations and four counts of probation violation.

Christopher John Drake, 28, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 12 near West 9th and Walnut streets and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Shonn David Watson, 28, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 12 in the 800 block of Richland Court and is accused of parole violation.

David Jaafe Wentworth, 27, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 12 in the 2500 block of West 2nd Street and is accused of second-degree criminal mischief.

A theft report was taken Nov. 12 from the 1200 block of East 11th Street after a victim reported his vehicle was broken into overnight.

Scott Joseph Morrison, 40, no listed address, was arrested Nov. 12 in the 1700 block of West 6th Street and is accused of second-degree criminal trespass.

Police responded to the 1000 block of East 8th Street Nov. 12 on a request for a welfare check. Caller was concerned for a client who left a suicidal note. Subject was located in her room partially conscious. She was taken to the hospital. A report was taken.

Colten Calvin Koops, 30, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 12 in the 1300 block of East 15th Street and is accused of probation violation.

Kate Tamara Alvarez, 39, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 13 in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street on an out of state warrant.

A criminal mischief report was taken Nov. 13 from Festival Park after graffiti was applied to the property.

Animal control responded to the 500 block of East 8th Street Nov. 13 on a report of a dog bite. One owner was bit trying to remove his or her dog from an altercation with another dog. A report was taken.

A theft report was taken Nov. 13 from the 2600 block of West 6th Street after staff reported a male suspect fled without paying for merchandise.

A hit and run report was taken Nov. 13 from East 9th and Court streets.

A male subject was arrested for fourth-degree assault Nov. 14 in the 2700 block of West 7th Street during an altercation with his brother. Due to high intoxication levels, the suspect was taken to the hospital and released into the care of staff. A report was taken.

A restraining order violation report was taken Nov. 14 from the 1000 block of East 8th Street.

A theft report was taken Nov. 14 from the 400 block of Mt. Hood Street after staff reported a suspect fled the store with unpaid merchandise.

Police responded to the 300 block of Lincoln Street Nov. 14 on a report of a dog at large. The dog was located and lodged at the local shelter. A report was taken.

Police responded to the 300 block of East 8th Street Nov. 14 after a caller reported his roommate took all his belongings out of the home and put them in the alley. A report was taken.

Zachary Thomas Lauritsen, 43, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 14 and is accused of attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle and probation violation.

A theft report was taken Nov. 14 from the 500 block of West 9th Street after a victim reported her wallet was stolen.

A theft report was taken Nov. 14 from the high school after a victim reported a backpack was stolen.

Fernando Aguilera Bravo, 29, Salem, was arrested Nov. 14 during a traffic stop on River Road and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Jennifer Michelle Gladish, 31, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 14 in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street on a warrant for probation violation.

Wasco County

A theft report was taken Nov. 9 from the 2500 block of East 18th Street after a victim reported some tools were stolen from a work site.

Stefani Lynn Haines, 36, Maupin, was arrested Nov. 9 during a traffic stop in Wamic and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

An agency assist report was taken Nov. 9 from the 1200 block of West 6th Street after assisting city police with arresting a subject.

Jordan Andrew Boyd, 27, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 10 in the 3600 block of Old Dufur Road and is accused of first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass.

Alvin Edward Brown, 63, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 10 in the 1000 block of Irvine Street on a warrant for two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Deputy responded to the regional jail Nov. 12 after staff reported an inmate had brought contraband into the facility. A report was taken. A burglary report was taken Nov. 12 from the 6800 block of Highway 30.

A theft report was taken Nov. 13 from the 4600 block of Cherry Heights Road after a caller reported his vehicle was prowled overnight and had some items stolen.

A theft report was taken Nov. 13 from the 4000 block of Skyline Road.

Deputy responded to Mosier Nov. 13 after a caller reported he found one of his outside cats had been shot with an arrow. An informational report was taken.

A harassment report was taken Nov. 14 from Dufur.

Deputy responded to Wamic Nov. 14 on a report of a fire. A report was taken.

Oregon State Police

Angela Marie Carhart, 36, Ashland, was arrested Nov. 9 during a traffic stop on Highway 97, milepost 53 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A male semi driver was cited and released for careless driving, no seatbelt, and using a mobile communication device while driving Nov. 11 during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 99.

A hazard tow report was taken Nov. 13 from Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 84 after a vehicle was left on the shoulder of a road near the lane of travel. The vehicle was impounded.

Tim Lee Essex, 53, Centerville, Wash., was booked and released on a Sherman County court commitment for fourth-degree assault.

Albert Fredrick Vonslomski, 26, The Dalles, was jailed Nov. 10 on a court commitment for harassment.

Mark Robert Violette, 59, Bend, was transported and jailed Nov. 14 after being arrested on a local warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Kyle Brian Long, 30, Wasco, was transported and jailed Nov. 14 after being arrested on a Sherman County warrant for parole violation.

Dustin Andrew Stiles, 37, Woodland, Wash., was transported and jailed Nov. 14 after being arrested on a Sherman County warrant for probation violation.

Jimmy Lee Cain, 26, The Dalles, was transported and jailed Nov. 14 after being arrested on a local warrant for post-prison violations.

Miguel Jimenez Olvares, 46, Portland, was transported and jailed Nov. 14 after being arrested on a Gilliam County warrant for probation violation.

Christopher Daniel Williams, 37, Wishram, Wash., was jailed Nov. 14 on a local warrant for first-degree failure to appear.

Cecelia Marie Gomez, 19, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 13 in the community correction office and is accused of probation violation.

Miguel Jose Mendoza Breaux, 27, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 13 in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation and post-prison violations.

Jill Michella Nevins, 40, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 13 in the community corrections office and is accused of three counts of probation violation.

Tiffany Maria Barajas, 25, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 14 in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.

Ryan Ortiz, 24, The Dalles, was arrested Nov. 14 in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
