U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., will host town halls in Gilliam and Sherman counties on Friday, May 30.

The meeting at the North Gilliam County Rural Fire Protection District firehouse, 1500 Railroad Ave., in Arlington, begins at 8 a.m.

Walden will be at Bob’s Texas T-Bone, 101 East First Street in Rufus, at 10 a.m. to meet with constituents.

The Congressman who spent part of his childhood on a cherry farm in Wasco County and now makes his home in Hood River will give an update on efforts in the House to reduce federal red tape and grow jobs in rural Oregon.

He will also answer questions posed by citizens from local communities. These will be Walden’s 22nd and 23rd town halls in 2015.
